The person who brings you Maximize Utility can be described in absolutes. He is definitely not brilliant, nor a genius. He is definitely not a hero out to save the world. He especially does not want to save people’s high consumption, nor does he want to sit down at the dinner table with people as they decide how much of a mortgage to take or whether they should to buy a new television with a credit card. He definitely has not beaten the market in investing.
